Our Road to Hell (Behind the screens of the school Hadestown production), 2026.3 - 2026.6.16

the first day of working in the crew i guess.
so we all got down to the practice room and since our school is really small, the cast + crew only have 40 people (with the cast taking up approximately 7/8) and we have decided to play the backing tracks instead of live instrumentation. and we are all awkwardly scattered across the room.
the first thing is roll call and some information like the time for the opening night, how we only have three months to learn the 30 or so musical numbers and a short census about wether we'll be taking next week's sat exam (which i really unfortunately need to take) and the later sat (ugh, asians.) and stuff. guess what's next? another roll call in the form of a main characters introduction.
some quite noticable thing about the cast:
orpheus is played by a really tall and slender girl and when she rise up i almost thought that she's a dude with long hair. super solid casting.
Persephone is a bit short and chubby. i noticed her back in the talent show and omg she sings so well. maybe when im doing things with costumes ill get a pair of high heeled boots for her?
hades is actually quite tall. but he looks average and is not as intimidating as either patrick page or alfred molina (sorry i have to mention fred. hes the hades for my fan casting of the musical. apart from him i didnt assign any other characters to any other celebrities. somebody have suggested boygenius as the three fates on reddit. i agree with them. more information see one of tumblr posts).
when the director called out us (the crew) she said "and next, (name), (name), (my name) and (name), our hardest working and most adorble stagehands (although were also gonna do the design job too)!" and i was instantly filled with serotonin like, im afab and nonbinary and tends to dress androgynously and want to be really cool but still deep down i still want to be called cute and struggles with my femininity.
and after a few minutes the meeting ends and i walked up to the director and goes "erm... actually theres something i want to ask..."
she: what?
me: erm so like should i bring my guitar for orpheus as a prop
she: we are still considering about wether we use actual instruments or not
me: ok i understand. bye
(actually im thinking of bringing my accordion as a prop as it also offers me a chance to play it backstage cause i really fucking love her although i dont always have time to play. but still i went back to the homeroom nevertheless)
